Fit for Faith

Coach Jacob Ejercito coaches men on nutrition and weight loss, through a community he runs as the Temple Forge Brotherhood and through one-on-one work. The website and the customer-facing experience were already his. What did not exist was the piece underneath: a way to take a payment and turn it into a working membership.

The gap

He had somewhere to send people and nothing to do with them once they said yes. Every subscription meant checking whether a payment had landed, then granting access to the right programme, one person at a time. That works at ten members and stops working somewhere before a hundred.

What we built

The integration layer between his site, Xendit, and membership.io. A customer picks Community or one-on-one coaching, subscribes, pays, and the rest happens without him:

• Xendit takes the payment and the monthly subscription is set up against it.
• Payment status is read and handled, including the cases where it does not go through.
• Confirmation goes to the customer.
• The membership is activated against the programme they actually bought.
• Access to the right part of the platform opens.

Both programmes run the same path. The only thing that differs is what the member ends up with access to.

The email nobody plans for

Lifecycle email is the part membership.io does not do on its own, so it goes out through Zapier. The cancellation confirmation is the one worth naming: it arrives the same minute, states the offer the member was on, says plainly that there will be no further charge, and offers to switch it back on with one reply.

A small job. It is also the email that decides whether somebody leaves annoyed or leaves willing to come back.

Result

The coach stopped being the middle step. Subscription to platform access runs on its own, so the admin work stays where it is while the subscriber count grows.
