Sunshine Farm is a real working sunflower farm, and it is where a group of people with disabilities work. They tend the fields and make the sunflower artwork and souvenirs the farm sells.
May kakayahan ang may kapansanan. People with disabilities are capable. Nagbibigay hindi lang nabibigyan. They give, they are not only given to. The job of the site is to turn a visitor into a donor without softening either of those into charity language, because the farm does not talk about itself that way and neither should we.
Getting the money there
Donating means opening a banking app. The site hands over the farm’s BPI details, walks the transfer through step by step, and takes the receipt afterwards by email or Messenger.
That was the right way to build it. The farm already had the account, so donations could move the week the page went up rather than wait behind anything else. Every one is reconciled by somebody at the farm, which means the farm knows exactly who gave and can say thank you properly.
The real thing
Impact
Built so donations turn into wages for people with disabilities. The site funds the farm, the farm funds the jobs.
