Founder
John Nicholai Villegas
Nico, to everybody who knows me.
I started TAIO Labs because the problems I care about are the ordinary ones. Small enough that nobody has gotten around to them, and they wear people down every single day.
What I do
Building software since 2015, mostly fintech and retail, and TAIO Labs since 2018. My day job is senior manager for solutions architecture at a direct selling company, and I am also taking my Master of Business Administration at the Ateneo Graduate School of Business. I have never been good at leaving the learning alone, and I am not about to start.
At TAIO Labs that turns into two kinds of work. Products of our own, which we run and support and live with every decision on, and work for other people. An app for anyone taking the MRT, a website for one accounting firm in Bulacan, an invitation page for one couple. Same care at all three sizes.
How I pick what to work on
What I want are problems with a person at the end of them. If something you can buy off the shelf already does the job, I will say so on the first call. If the idea is real but too big for a first version, I will tell you which part to build first.
Tell me what your community keeps working around and I will tell you honestly what it would take to fix it. There is always somebody at the end of it waiting for the thing to work, and that is who the work is for.

Things I have built
- Sleepy Whisper The video never leaves your two phones, because there is no server for it to go to.
- Fit for Faith Someone can subscribe at midnight and be inside the programme by the time the coach wakes up.
- A wedding in Baguio Showed the wedding page works for anybody. New venues, new colours, the same forty questions.
- Quicksteps Solutions Gave a small accounting firm a website that finally matched how good they already were.
- Sunshine Farm PH Built so donations turn into wages for people with disabilities. The site funds the farm, the farm funds the jobs.
- Blissful Bites A shop she actually owns, instead of a page she rents from a platform.
