John Nicholai Villegas

I am John Nicholai Villegas, founder of TAIO Labs, a product studio in the Philippines. I like problems with a person at the end of them.

What I do

Building software since 2015, mostly fintech and retail, and TAIO Labs since 2018. My day job is senior manager for solutions architecture, and I am also taking my Master of Business Administration at the Ateneo Graduate School of Business. I've never been good at leaving the learning alone.

At TAIO Labs that means two kinds of work. Our own products, which we run and support and live with, and work for other people.

How I pick what to work on

If something you can buy off the shelf already does the job, I'll say so on the first call. If the idea is good but too big for a first version, I'll tell you which part to build first.

Tell me what your community keeps working around and I'll tell you what it would take to fix it. There's always somebody at the end of it waiting for the thing to work. That's who I'm building for.
