In 2020 the front desk of a condo building turned into a problem. Somebody had to take in every package, sort it, keep it somewhere, tell the resident, then hand it over. Face to face, all day long.
What we built
Lockers in a few sizes with password-protected doors, and a system that took the whole job off the front desk. The courier drops the package into a free locker. The resident gets a text, an app notification or an email, and picks it up whenever suits them. Nobody has to be in the same place at the same time as anybody else.
For the building it removed a queue and a worry. For the resident it removed the part of a delivery where you have to be home.
Built for a moment, and it served it
Beehive ran through the pandemic and closed in 2022. It is here because that is the honest shape of it. A product built for a specific problem, running while the problem existed, and switched off on purpose once it passed.
Have a go
Go on, click a door.
Nothing waiting. The front desk has nothing to hold on to, sort out, or hand over.
Impact
Took package handling off the front desk, back when nobody wanted to hand anything to anybody.
